The first subsidised coastal voyage along the North Sea Route this year is scheduled from July to September along the route: Arkhangelsk–Sabetta–Korsakov–Vostochny Port–Magadan–P.-Kamchatsky–Pevek–Arkhangelsk (the route may be adjusted in terms of adding or changing the rotation of ports), according to the official Telegram channel of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic.

The cargo base is currently being developed, with over 200 requests already received for the transportation of construction materials and food, including Far East fish, machinery and other containerised and general cargo.

The subsidy programme for cabotage transportation via the North Sea Route between ports in northwestern Russia and the Far East was launched in 2022. In the first year, there were two round trips, and three in 2023. Three voyages are also planned for 2024. During this time, the list of ports where subsidised ship calls are possible has been expanded from 4 to 14.

The voyage is being carried out as part of the federal project 'Development of the North Sea Route,' which is included in the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernisation and Expansion of the Mainline Infrastructure.
